Overview

I am a board-certified psychiatrist offering psychopharmacology and psychotherapy services in the Mid-Hudson Valley region. (See Bio)

I offer consultations and ongoing treatment for a range of mental health conditions, including: disorders of mood, anxiety, sleep, substance misuse, attention deficit and other cognitive and learning issues, PTSD, thought disturbances and more. My treatment modalities include the use of psychiatric medications, as well as psychotherapy modalities, such as supportive, insight-oriented, and cognitive/behavioral. My treatment focus is on pragmatic and functional gains, with an eye towards the achievement of reduced symptoms, better habits of health, and improved quality of life.

Please note:

I practice in an office suite in the village of Rhinebeck, NY, in the Mid- Hudson Valley region. I run my office by handling all patient transactions myself. I attempt in every situation in which I am offering treatment to utilize both my scientific training and my wisdom about the predicaments of living. I offer skillful assessments and meaningful recommendations. My patients see me either on a time-limited or on an ongoing basis so that they can benefit from my expertise as a psychotherapist and from my ability to prescribe psychiatric medications. Some of my patients are in psychotherapy with other therapists in the region. This is a more limited focus of my practice. I also have some availability to consult with patients referred via their general practice physicians. My patients range in age from 18 to 80. Many of my patients are enrolled in area colleges, including Bard, Vassar, SUNY New Paltz, Marist, and the Culinary Institute of America. Working with young adults in this context is a particular interest of mine. It is a source of deep satisfaction to me—and to my patients and their families—to help young adults realize their potential for self-mastery.
